After offering up a behind the scenes look the previous day, Relativity Media has released the International trailer for their upcoming movie “Mirror Mirror”.

The comedy/action-adventure picture stars Lily Collins as Snow White while Julia Roberts portrays the Evil Queen and Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott.

Directed by Tarsem Singh, the film sees Miss Collins’ character is “an exiled princess who enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a magical adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal.”

Also starring Nathan Lane, Robert Emms, Michael Lerner and Sean Bean, “Mirror Mirror” is set to hit theaters on March 16, 2012.

She seems to be a magnet when it comes to drawing legal issues, and Lindsay Lohan can add another lawsuit to her “to do” list.

According to a new report from TMZ, the “Mean Girls” starlet has been targeted by a nanny who’s seeking retribution while claiming that Lindsay crashed into her while driving a Maserati sports car.

The legal filing stems from an incident which occurred back in September of 2010, with a witness backing the allegation that the 25-year-old ran a red light in West Hollywood while then striking the woman named Nubia Del Carmen Preza as she pushed a stroller through the intersection.

Fortunately enough, the child suffered no injuries, although Miss Preza now says that she was hurt by the run-in – which is what has led her to seek unspecified damages in compensation.

As for why she waited so long to file the case, a source told TMZ, “She was in shock and Hispanic so she was scared.”

They’re as tight knit of a family as they come, and Khloe Kardashian got quite the pleasant surprise in the form of a visit from sisters Kim and Kourtney, as well as mother Kris Jenner, in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday (January 25).

With the quartet of ladies joining together for dinner at Nobu before heading to the Mavs game, Khloe excitedly tweeted, “My sisters just surprised me in Dallas!!!! @KimKardashian and @KourtneyKardash what what!!!! The game is going to be wild!”

And while they certainly enjoyed each other’s company, the basketball contest didn’t go as hoped for – as Khloe’s hubby Lamar Odom had a dismal 5 point outing in his team’s 105-90 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Of her man’s struggles on the hardwood, Khloe wrote, “Ugh I feel so bad for my baby… His poor ankles I can tell he’s in pain.” She added, “This NBA season is crazy!!!! So packed with back to back games…. These poor boys can’t rest their bodies. aww I feel for them”

The visit comes as Kim and Kourtney are gearing up for this Sunday night’s (January 29) second season finale of their E! spinoff “Kourtney and Kim Take New York”.

With a preview available below, the closing episode finds Kim come to a conclusion about her marriage as the gang prepares to leave New York City.

Moore’s separation from Ashton Kutcher, thin appearance had fans concerned even before Tuesday health scare.

Demi Moore made headlines on Tuesday when she was hospitalized for “exhaustion.” The news of the health scare may not have been too surprising to celebrity watchers who have been closely keeping an eye on the actress in the wake of her split from Ashton Kutcher.

In 2011, Moore’s personal life became heavily scrutinized when “Two and a Half Men” star Kutcher faced allegations that he was cheating on Moore. The actress has been lying low of late — she appeared in several smaller films in the past year, including “Margin Call” and “Another Happy Day.”

Last fall, shortly before she announced her split from Kutcher, Moore had many fans worried about her health after she appeared thinner than usual at several red-carpet appearances to promote “Margin Call.” But she kept up a brave face in the wake of all the rumors regarding her appearance and her marriage.

It all came to a head in November when Moore and Kutcher confirmed that they were separating. In a statement, Moore said, “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton.

“As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” the statement continued. “This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation.”

In the months since the announcement, Moore has kept a low profile, but in early January she was cast as feminist icon Gloria Steinem in the “Lovelace” biopic currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Since her hospitalization, Moore has dropped out of “Lovelace.” Her next film release is “LOL,” starring Miley Cyrus and Ashley Greene, due out later this year. “I really loved the movie; I loved working with [Cyrus] and the director. They just put it on pause because they had another film they were focusing on. It’s a tough thing when you have a movie you’re looking forward to coming out,” she said of the flick.

‘I’m honored that I’ve been given such a prestigious title,’ Ne-Yo says of new role as SVP in statement to MTV News.

When you think Motown Records, you think of artists like Diana Ross, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson, just to name a few. Now Ne-Yo joins the legendary list of soul and R&B singers that will record under the iconic brand created by Berry Gordy in 1959.

The Grammy Award-winning singer (and co-star of the George Lucas-produced “Red Tails”) has moved from Def Jam to Motown Records, according to a statement sent to MTV News on Wednesday (January 25). Not only that, Ne-Yo will also take over as the label’s senior vice president of A&R.

“I’m honored that I¹ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson — these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it,” the singer said in the statement.

Ne-Yo released his debut In My Own Words on Def Jam in 2006 and dropped three subsequent albums with the powerhouse hip-hop label. The singer/songwriter’s fifth LP will now come through Motown, which, like Def Jam, falls under the Universal umbrella. In addition to his artistry and ear for talent as an A&R, Ne-Yo will also bring his Compound Entertainment imprint over to Motown.

“His track record of success at Def Jam will always be a benchmark,” said Universal Republic and Island Def Jam Motown chairman/CEO Barry Weiss in the same statement. “But this move to Motown will provide new and inspiring challenges for Ne-Yo as both an artist and a key member of the new senior management team that is taking form at the label in 2012.”

Senior Vice President of Motown Ethiopia Habtemariam added that signing Ne-Yo, who has written for Rihanna (“Take A Bow”), Beyoncé (“Irreplaceable”) and Mario (“Let Me Love You”), will only bolster Motown’s historical reputation for making great R&B.

“We are committed to discovering, developing and nurturing R&B/soul superstars here at Motown,” she said. “In Ne-Yo we have both a global superstar and arguably one of the best songwriters in music. His presence on the executive team only strengthens our commitment to be the very best in R&B.”

Registration at Ontario bank surges after singer tweets about one fan’s need for a lung transplant.

Justin Bieber is a charitable guy. So when a fan of his reached out to him on Twitter to help spread the word about organ and blood donation, one particular bank quickly saw more and more people in the giving spirit.

Belieber Helene Campbell, 20, tweeted the teen star last week about her own struggles (including how she herself needs a lung transplant). Bieber then began tweeting to her and about her, shedding more light on the cause than the fan could have ever anticipated.

In the days since the online correspondence, the Ontario-based Trillium Gift of Life Network has seen donations skyrocket to more than 1,200 people, four times the amount the network usually receives. In part it had a lot to do with Bieber, but also the campaign started by Campbell, who suffers from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.

“Helene has done an incredible job inspiring and motivating Ontarians to register their consent to organ and tissue donation. On an average day we would expect about 50 new online registrations,” President and CEO Ronnie Gavsie said in a statement on Wednesday (January 25). “Since Helene’s campaign began last Thursday, the average has been closer to 200 per day! There are over 1,500 people in Ontario waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant, on behalf of all them and Trillium Gift of Life Network, thank you Helene and thank you Justin Bieber!”

Shortly after his initial tweet, she shared with him, “@justinbieber you have made a huge impact, not only on my life, but for many others in need of the gift of life now and in the future!”

His response: “@alungstory glad to be able to help. best part of what i do.”

Bieber’s other charity work includes his Believe Charity Drive as well as his participation with the Pencils of Promise foundation.

Complicated voting rules shut out songs by Elton John, Lady Gaga, Mary J. Blige and Pink.

Tuesday morning’s (January 24) announcement of the 2012 Oscar nominations delivered plenty of surprises. Michael Fassbender (“Shame”), Albert Brooks (“Drive”) and Charlize Theron (“Young Adult”) were overlooked in the acting categories, while Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”), Rooney Mara (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) and Max von Sydow (“Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”) scored surprise nominations. But perhaps no category was more head-scratching than Best Original Song.

Despite the fact that a short list of 39 tracks were eligible for nomination, only two were named — “Man or Muppet” from “The Muppets” and “Real in Rio” from “Rio” — leaving tunes from Elton John and Lady Gaga, Pink, will.i.am, Zooey Deschanel, Elvis Costello and Mary J. Blige shut out of the competition.

Many Oscar-watchers were left wondering why the Academy would opt away from the traditional five contenders in favor of just two little-heard songs. Well, a closer look at the Oscar rule book shows it’s probably less a case of choosing to nominate only two songs than it is simply a case of a single song scoring enough points to secure a nod, and then bringing its closest competition along for the ride.

Oscar nominations are arrived at using a very complicated weighted system in which members of the Academy, voting exclusively for members of their own branch (i.e. actors chose the acting nominees, directors vote for directors, etc.), rank contenders in order of preference. From there, a “magic number” is determined that relies on the number of ballots cast for a category, along with a specific mathematical equation. Ballots are tallied and contenders are eliminated through several rounds in a process that tabulates factors like first-place mentions and so on. Once a contender reaches the magic number, they are an Oscar nominee. (The folks over at EW‘s PopWatch break down the selection steps in great detail.)

So this is how the nominees are determined — with one exception: Best Original Song. In 2009, when the Academy opted to up the number of Best Picture nominees to 10 (the voting body has since altered that number), it also changed the rules for Best Original Song. As Billboard points out, members of the Academy’s music branch now “assign each song a numerical score between 1 and 10, and if no song receives an average of more than 8.25, there are no nominees. If only one song tops the threshold, as clearly happened here, the next highest vote getter secures a nomination as well.”

Tuesday morning’s (January 24) announcement of the 2012 Oscar nominations delivered plenty of surprises. Michael Fassbender (“Shame”), Albert Brooks (“Drive”) and Charlize Theron (“Young Adult”) were overlooked in the acting categories, while Melissa McCarthy (“Bridesmaids”), Rooney Mara (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”) and Max von Sydow (“Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”) scored surprise nominations. But perhaps no category was more head-scratching than Best Original Song.

Despite the fact that a short list of 39 tracks were eligible for nomination, only two were named — “Man or Muppet” from “The Muppets” and “Real in Rio” from “Rio” — leaving tunes from Elton John and Lady Gaga, Pink, will.i.am, Zooey Deschanel, Elvis Costello and Mary J. Blige shut out of the competition.

Many Oscar-watchers were left wondering why the Academy would opt away from the traditional five contenders in favor of just two little-heard songs. Well, a closer look at the Oscar rule book shows it’s probably less a case of choosing to nominate only two songs than it is simply a case of a single song scoring enough points to secure a nod, and then bringing its closest competition along for the ride.

Oscar nominations are arrived at using a very complicated weighted system in which members of the Academy, voting exclusively for members of their own branch (i.e. actors chose the acting nominees, directors vote for directors, etc.), rank contenders in order of preference. From there, a “magic number” is determined that relies on the number of ballots cast for a category, along with a specific mathematical equation. Ballots are tallied and contenders are eliminated through several rounds in a process that tabulates factors like first-place mentions and so on. Once a contender reaches the magic number, they are an Oscar nominee. (The folks over at EW‘s PopWatch break down the selection steps in great detail.)

So this is how the nominees are determined — with one exception: Best Original Song. In 2009, when the Academy opted to up the number of Best Picture nominees to 10 (the voting body has since altered that number), it also changed the rules for Best Original Song. As Billboard points out, members of the Academy’s music branch now “assign each song a numerical score between 1 and 10, and if no song receives an average of more than 8.25, there are no nominees. If only one song tops the threshold, as clearly happened here, the next highest vote getter secures a nomination as well.”

‘It’s an honour every time I hear her voice,’ Adele writes of the late singer.

Days after legendary songstress Etta James passed away from complications of leukemia, Adele took to her blog to recall the great influence the singer has had on her.

“What a lady Etta James was. She was the ultimate original,” she said, recalling her own encounter with the icon. “Her voice was breath taking and her songs are reflections we all recognise in some way or another. It’s an honour every time I hear her voice. I saw her at BB Kings in New York a few years ago, and it was something I will remember forever. Thank you to Etta James. And I send all my love to her family and friends.”

Since the news broke of James’ death, many big-voiced divas have opened up about the influence she had on them. “Etta James was a force to be reckoned with. A true gift to music and a woman of great spirit and courage. Her raw tone and the passion she put forth on a record spoke to me at a very young age and has continued to influence and inspire me throughout my career,” Christina Aguilera said in a statement. “She will NEVER be forgotten, her voice will forever live on and she will inspire talent for generations to come.”

Beyoncé also remembered the “At Last” singer within hours of learning of her passing. She was one in a long line of pop stars who paid their last respects to James, including Hayley Williams, will.i.am and Flo Rida.

“This is a huge loss. Etta James was one of the greatest vocalists of our time. I am so fortunate to have met such a queen,” Beyoncé wrote on her blog. “Her musical contributions will last a lifetime. Playing Etta James taught me so much about myself, and singing her music inspired me to be a stronger artist. When she effortlessly opened her mouth, you could hear her pain and triumph. Her deeply emotional way of delivering a song told her story with no filter. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed.”

‘Descendants’ star George Clooney and ‘Artist’ actor Jean Dujardin are two of MTV News’ nominee picks.

In less than 24 hours, five actors will find themselves officially locked in on the road toward Oscar glory. The 2012 Academy Award nominations are set to be unleashed on Tuesday, and while there are certainly some expected front-runners who will be in the mix, there are always surprise nominees who make the cut.

In the Best Actor category, however, things seem a bit more predictable this year. A handful of performers have found their names repeatedly honored with nominations throughout the current awards season and the trend isn’t likely to stop before Oscar night.

From bureaus to baseball, from silence to sex, here are our predictions for the Academy Awards’ Best Actor nominees.

George Clooney, “The Descendants”
Already familiar with the taste of Oscar gold, Clooney is very likely on the cusp of another major win for his touching turn as “back-up parent” Matt King in Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants.” Clooney has been on an Academy-attracting hot streak in recent years, what with nominations for “Michael Clayton” and “Up in the Air.” Under the right circumstances, he could have easily claimed victories for either of those roles. Will he find himself in the right crowd this time around?

Leonardo DiCaprio, “J. Edgar”
Critics were not kind to director Clint Eastwood’s biopic about the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s polarizing founder. But DiCaprio’s performance as the titular J. Edgar Hoover is another story. The three-time Oscar nominee turned in a transformative performance as Hoover, both physically and spiritually, and is likely to be recognized with a fourth nomination, if not a win.

Jean Dujardin, “The Artist”
It’s said that silence is acceptance. If that’s the case, French actor Jean Dujardin could well be accepting a Best Actor award on Oscar night. As the star of director Michel Hazanavicius’ silent film “The Artist,” Dujardin proved the old adage that a picture is worth a thousand words — in his case, moving pictures — as he stole the hearts of art-house moviegoers everywhere as George Valentin, a silent-movie actor facing the very real threat of falling from stardom to redundancy.

Michael Fassbender, “Shame”
Talk about baring it all! Fassbender truly shed every layer possible — and we do mean every layer — as sex addict Brandon Sullivan in director Steve McQueen’s “Shame.” It’s not easy for the star of an NC-17 film to cross over to the awards-season elite, but Fassbender has done exactly that, most notably with his Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. While he’s not likely to win — a true shame, if you ask us — his inclusion on Oscar night feels like the climax, if you will, of the Irish-German actor’s truly inspired 2011.

Brad Pitt, “Moneyball”
After the shutdown of Steven Soderbegh’s take on the material, a rewrite from Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and the surprise hiring of Jonah Hill in his first dramatic role, “Moneyball” surprised everybody by simply existing. Unsurprising is the fantastic performance from Pitt, one of our most gifted (and gorgeous) actors. Pitt has yet to bring an Oscar home, despite numerous nominations over the years. His Billy Beane might be the most understated of all the characters likely to enter the Best Actor field this year, but true to the Oakland A’s general manager’s philosophy, it’s not always a grand slam that gets you the win.
